Bhubaneswar: The Sundargarh district administration has set an example for other districts in the State,  by appointing seven transgender persons as frontline Covid  warriors in Odisha.

The decision has come into effect considering them as an eminent part of the society and making them make valuable contributions in the fight against coronavirus pandemic.

As one transgender has been appointed as Data Operator at Covid Care Centre in BPUT, Rourkela, another for registration work at Chhend, Rourkela  and five others will be working as either attendant or sanitation worker at Covid Care Centre in BPUT, Rourkela.

Sundargarh district Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan said that the seven transgender perons have been appointed on provision basis
