Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly thrashed his mother and sister and dragged them out of house under Binjharpur police limits in the Jajpur District. The matter came into fore when the victims knocked the door of Odisha State Women’s Commission.
Speaking to the reporters, the woman said that, after the death of her husband on February 21, her son and daughter-in-law threw her and her daughter out of the house. Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint at the Binjharpur police station.
The cops tried to sort out the situation by forging a compromise between the two parties. The mother was demanding her children to get the equal share of the property but the one who keeps the utensils should pay money to the opposite party. However, the son declined the offer and the local police refused to help the victims any further. After this, the victims decided to seek support of the commission. The victims also sought a shed for themselves as they are currently staying with their relatives.
