Rourkela: Two sisters finally got their class X certificate on Wednesday after Sundergarh Collector Nikhil Pavan directed the authorities of Saint Mary’s school in Rourkela.
According to sources, due to poor financial conditions, Jayashree and Bhagyashree were unable to pay the school fees for which their class X certificates were kept mortgaged by the school since 2017. After the incident came to fore, the collector looked into the matter and directed the school to handover their certificates as soon as possible.
Notably, both sisters belong to an economically backward family secured good marks in the ICSE Class X examination in June 2017. But they were not able to peruse higher studies because the school refused to give their certificates.
